Roy Stanley Benson was born on December 7, 1906, in Concord, N.H. He received his commission as ensign in the U.S. Navy in 1929. He advanced to rear admiral in 1956, and was commander of the Submarine Force, Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor from 1960 to 1962. He retired in 1968. Benson died February 7, 1995. Thomas F. Hickey (April 1, 1898-Nov. 18, 1983) was born in South Boston, Mass. He received his commission in the infantry in 1917. During his early military career, he served with the 341st Machine Gun Battalion and 27th Division, AEF at St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne in 1918. Hickey advanced to the rank of brigadier general in September 1943, later served at commanding general of the 82nd Airborne Division from 1950 to 1952 and the XVIII Airborne Corps from February 1952 to August 1943, and the T...
