Roy Stanley Benson was born on December 7, 1906, in Concord, N.H. He received his commission as ensign in the U.S. Navy in 1929. He advanced to rear admiral in 1956, and was commander of the Submarine Force, Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor from 1960 to 1962. He retired in 1968. Benson died February 7, 1995. Thomas F. Hickey (April 1, 1898-Nov. 18, 1983) was born in South Boston, Mass. He received his commission in the infantry in 1917. During his early military career, he served with the 341st Machine Gun Battalion and 27th Division, AEF at St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne in 1918.
